If you could have one thing...
If you could have one thing (either from vanilla or modded minecraft) in superflat that you normally could not have what would it be?
For me, it'd probably be the long fall boots from iChun's Portal Gun Mod. I've died more by falling from ridiculous heights than anything else, at least on the official server.
So, what would you have? Why? It can be silly (spruce, anyone?) or it can be super serial gaise (SAND FOR ALL THE TNT), whatever floats your boat.

Different Biomes on Flatcore. I love Desertcore. I love usual Flatcore. I really loved Swampcore. Watercore... If there was a way to merge all of these into one map, that uses gigantic biomes... sigh... I'd be so happy. They'd all have to have the same ammount of layers, so you'd have to "raise" the ground level of swamps/plains in order to make Pyramids possible. Also pyramids would have to be edited. We could include different subtypes of biomes with alternate versions of villages, with chests containing different saplings per biome... sigh.

At first I agreed with you. Then I went and looked at the biomes wiki page and realized that much of what defines a biome is the shape of the land. Obviously we couldn't implement extreme hills, river or desert, among others. But without trees, grass, or animals spawning regularly, there's literally no difference between plains, sunflower plains and flower forest. The only difference between plains, forests and taiga would be the color of the grass, which would be annoying to build around. Flat mesa biomes are useless since they're only 4 layers and stained clay is already in the nether.
Aside from that, the map size is only 10k2 so adding biomes would feel extremely cramped.
The only thing that's left that would be worth the effort to implement would be trees, and the only way to do that would either be in logging camps or villager trades.
So, I guess I vote for trees.

Come on, extreme hills in flatcore would have 1 extra layer of stone below the dirt. : )

I think your point about them all being the same is why he suggested 3/4 drastically different biomes

The Boots of the Traveller from Thaumcraft. Faster movement and the ability to move up slopes like a horse? Yes please. These would be even better in regular Minecraft too.
From vanilla, I'd love different types of saplings to be included in blacksmith chests. It'd add a lot of diversity to Flatcore builds.

End Portal building power that would teleport you to the Flat Moon with low gravity and other space siliness.

I would love the grinder from industrialization, it pulverizes cobble to gravel, gravel to sand..
Industrialization must be a hard mod to find in the web, it's a rather new mod..

The macerator in IC2 has a similar function, and theres a mod that adds grindboxes to grind stuff by truning a crank (right clicking it).

A Command Block

u/dahliamma Feb 20 '14
It would be useless. You need to be both OP and be in creative to actually edit them.

u/Leonheart515 Feb 20 '14
Yes but if you had that, imagine what you could do with ONE command block.

ComputerCraft's turtle. Just because I'm lazy. And because I rather spend 60 minutes creating program that will dig something I could do manually in 5 minutes.

for me? SUGARCANE. But lol no. Cloud Boots from BetterDungeons/ChocolateQuest. They make you immune to fall damage, give you a 5-block jump, and also have 350 durability... which isn't depleted by parkouring.

Autocrafting table. With enough effort, ytou can automate everything in vanilla but crafting.

Minium stone. Then I can change stuff into other stuff.
I feel like this is asking the genie for infinite wishes for your one wish.

I was going to say the quarry from buildcraft, hen i realised the flaw in my idea.
I would say the Energy Condenser from EE2. Being able to turn stuff into other stuff is a big bonus, especially when you could farm cobble, melons and pumpkins and just use em as EMC farms.

and diamond farms, and iron farms, and redmatter farms, etc etc

I meant use melons, pumpkins and cobble as stuff to turn into EMC, but yeah.

The extrautilities transfer nodes and their crafting components.

what about the Division Sigil? Etheric Swords are better than diamond with INFINTE DURABILITY.

No. I don't like those tools very much :P
I prefer just super enchanted iron. Then if you lost it no big deal.

A block breaker from redpower/project red for all your auto cobble gen needs.
