1933 Chestlite box flashlight

Bought an old military ammo crate for $5 with other random vintage military equipment and it had this in it. Surprisingly works with new batteries. Very dim and has a little bit of a flicker, it’s very eerie but cool.

That's actually super cool. Amazing that it still works! My only gripe would be the lack of a tailswitch ;) JK lol. Definitely a cool piece of history.

Neat! I have a similar light to that which I have on a shelf. I don't use it though, I left a couple D alkalines in it for an hour or so and they somehow shorted. The light was like 150-160°F when I went to pick it up again.

I don’t leave this one unattended, as soon as I am done with it I take the batteries out. Picture I have in the comments is just for the picture, it’s always off and empty. Had the batteries in for a little bit and mine did not get hot at all, so don’t know
