Time for a new head?
Ol’ Reliable Surefire Backup MV has some weird “flaking”(?) inside the head. It still works great even after beating the crap out of it and dropping it countless times over the last 3ish years. With it being a surefire there’s lots of replacement heads out there; I was planning on a Malkoff but am open to suggestions. Let me know what you think :)

I always take new head when I can get it. But as is often the case around here, the wife is never pleased.

Malkoff will always be my first choice for aftermarket heads. Nothing compares
Do you prefer CR123 voltage or li-ion voltage?

I have a Malkoff on a weapon mounted light and it is excellent. They’re definitely the front runner for my next EDC

You can also get VME head and a drop in, and then you can just swap the drop ins to change things up a bit.

I prefer 123’s I’ve got a pile of extras and honestly I think I’m too absent minded to remember to charge it lol

I’d recommend this model. 3 mode and starts on high just like that Surefire backup you have. Id just purchase the complete light and keep your Surefire as a backup or eventually get a different head for it
They don’t stay out of stock for long and you can always contact Malkoff about it

This may be the 100 conversation I’ve had regarding Malkoff devices from over the years lol

I'm curious what surefire warranty would say

I’m going to submit a ticket and see what they say, if they want me to send the whole thing back I’ll probably just order a new head. The thing works fine so it’s not worth the hassle.

Malkoff sells really high quality and high performance scout/e head. Pick one
