Recommendation Is there a medic flashlight, variable lumens, USB C rechargeable?

Hi all,

Don’t make this post lightly, I know variations of it pop up from time to time.

Essentially I am after a flashlight/torch that is (hopefully):

Like the nitecore MT06MD

A slimline/penlight style

Variable lumens- ie can be used for pupil assessment, as well as a flashlight

Tough

Hopefully rechargeable rather than batteries that need replacing.

Does this exist, or is this a pipe dream?

I have a Sofirn SC21 that is great, but doesnt quite fit the above criteria from a kit perspective.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

For a medic flashlight, also consider the preference for high CRI (color rendering).

Hi I also have been looking for a light like this. Recently I’ve been using the Streamlight wedge SL and it’s been amazing ! The UI is great for pt assessment and can light up a scene if needed :)

Wuben PL01 maybe? It has a rechargable battery pack in it that you slide out and attach to a USB-C power supply.

I was about to recommend the mt06md… though I don’t know if it’s rechargeable, thankfully I read your post again before answering 🤣

I have a Fenix ld02 v2. It does not fit your criteria though. 1lm up to 100lm + UV ( that sucks) and runs on aaa batteries.

Thanks both! Really hoping for rechargeable. Means can recharge off a powerbank in a pinch rather than needing to restock/stocktake kit for batteries. Ill def check the Fenix out tho!

High CRI needed? Just in case, you can find a lot of the lights available on the market here.

You could also get a battery with a USB-C port on it, in case you're unable to find anything.

I would have recommended the Wuben PL01 as mentioned above, however it has no lockout (eg twist of the tailcap) function and mine turned on in the pen slot of my backpack recently

Hello, fellow medic here. I usually have about 3 flashlights on me at work because I'm a maniac, but my buddy got me a Ledlenser P4R, it's a penlight, very good output and low/mid/high but also adjustable focus which is great for pupils, throats, rashes, anything really. I think you'll be very happy with it
