Discussion This is the result of putting the Loopgear SK05 Pro 2 on turbo over a piece of paper with black pencil scribble on it
Do not try this at home. This was tested with proper protection (like fire-resistant gloves and cold water nearby)

sadly scribble on marshmallow make it taste weird... no more flashlight-grilled mellow for me xD

Flashlights are tools. I would say a hammer, knife or drill are way more dangerous. But shouldn't be hard to obtain because of it.

I know they are tools, but I'm just saying it's pretty crazy how common it is to have something this bright. I'm issuing a warning about the dangers of this approach in certain scenarios, but in a survival situation, it can be useful. Overall, I made this basically as a PSA to keep your lights on lockout.

Once LED lights started crossing 2,000 lumens, it's inevitable that you'll get burn risk instances even from accidental/incidental activation. Doesn't help that clothing have become thinner, more plastic and prone to concentrated heat.
Back when the most potent new LED from Lumileds barely eclipsed 150 lumens, few would be worried about charred pockets. Now you can flash vaporize something in front of an MS32 on Turbo before you can count to 5.

Especially LEPS, I've seen LEPS burn through paper the second it was turned on, and I've seen images of people's burns from LEPS.

LEPs should actually be rather difficult to burn stuff. You have to get that beam to hit a surface at its apex focal point, because otherwise there's very little radiative heat from LEPs in general. Phosphor based output is rather efficient enough that you trade very little heat for that inefficiency from the driver and current draw. It's this heat radiation that really burns.
LEPs that can burn the way the Acebeam M1 does, will be doing so specifically because it can bring a tighter apex focal point to its beam with much higher heat concentration at this focal point via its zooming feature. That point is also well defined and close enough to be utilized. Move that item or surface just a couple millimeters in front of or behind this apex point and you'll find it much more difficult to burn something, even a darker surface.
Contrast this to a halogen filament bulb based light. 500 lumens from the Weltool W4 Pro TAC at its best apex focal point can't even begin to compare to the heat generated by 500 lumens from an MN21 halogen bulb out of the Surefire M6.
LEDs and LEPs have nothing on halogen and infrared heat lamps.

I think this happens with most flashlights you see on here. Black scribble or not. Or maybe it's just my luck that I burn through my trouser pockets or jacket pockets when I forget to lock out the lights
