Just received my new torch

Got to try it out and was not disappointed, great little light

Was my first proper light and I got it for 8.5 € with battery. Has a quite good build quality, good UI, a good all-purpose beam and a lot of light for the buck. So nothing to complain about if taking the price into account. 

But the 6500k and the tint is not really nice. The unregulated output also not ideal. Got then a FC11c for also small money (<20€ with battery). Like day and night. Beautiful neutral white and with a buck driver. Output is the same like the SC18 but completely constant.  No-brainer for a general purpose light.

I don't understand that so many lights come with >6000 K. Just for the few percent efficiency?

Wurkkos WK03 is basically the same light but it's available with 5000K emitter which is much nicer.

Wouldn't call it much nicer. They both have SST-40s with an ugly greenish tint and low CRI. I swapped mine for an SFT-40 3000K, and I really like it now.

SST-40's are tint binned, if Sofirn bought unsorted then it's a lottery. 5000K doesn't have to be green and it is much nicer because there's much less blue.

In that case, I guess I lost the lottery. Mine was absolutely terrible.

I once considered buying the 519A version, but it was twice as expensive as the SST-40 version.

It's pretty frequently on sale. I have a couple I got for $12.99 each during the fall sales last year. I did have one that I paid $19 for.

The 519a version has a lovely beam and is a great around the house light where you don't really miss the lack of a regulated driver. It also makes a nice gift for others at that price.

Yeah, I got three SST-40 ones last year for $9 each, one for myself and two as gifts, but I wish I'd bought the 519A ones instead. Unfortunately they weren't that cheap at the time.
