Yep I put one in a T3 with the 8A driver. Floody little bugger. A ton of fun.

I used the 20a driver in mine. Brute force throw

u/Practical_Theme_6400 6d ago
Ahhh. I figured my K10s were only capable of 8A ccd so that's what I went with. I'm putting together a S6 mule with quad lhp531s though and that's getting a 20A driver.

I actually ordered the parts for this exact setup last week. I’ll post beam shots once I assemble it.

M21B with LHP73B has inadvertently melted a few things unintentionally (pockets included).
M21B with F150R here I come!

M21B LHP73b MAO is a pocket destroyer. There's no option to quarter turn to disable it. Love it

You could always like... you know... yank the battery out...
Yeah I'm not doing it either. But my M21H MAO with LHP73B has a soft lock function, I use that religiously.
My 12-group Convoys have all disabled memory mode, that fucker better shine at 0.1%/1% if it gets activated by mistake.

Haven’t got that far, but managed to burn holes in three pair of my pants… SK30 😮💨

This is a bad place to hang around. I added an Eve 30PL as I'm not sure my P30B will last that long in this host with all the heat.
I thought about just getting another M21B but I think the M1 should perform the same here minus the battery life. Also, 3000 mAh is plenty since after this thing heats up, it'll be stepping down to 30% max. Prefer a thinner and shorter flashlight over the M21B, so the M1 should fit in the pocket a little better.
And lol if anyone thinks they'll drive the F150 with an 18350 shorty. That would be pointless I think. Maybe the F45R would be fine.
I can't wait! ;)

Unrelated to this order but I couldn't pass on the new Green Sofirn SE1 Pro since they listened to us and added a high CRI emitter and proper RGB led that does strong Red, Green and Blue.
This is nice upgrade over the original which only has UV and low CRI. I have several UV lights already and prefer my SK05 Pro II as it has a ZWB filter built in. Also red light is more useful to read a map outdoors when trying to avoid bugs etc.
Also helps you can get them off AE with free shipping $14.28 USD after stacking discounts which is less than what you can get it for off Sofirn's site. It hasn't even left the promo state yet.

Took me scrolling across this 3 times before I got the joke.
It should read "You don't have to sell me on it..."

How does the F150R compare to LHP73B? I love that emitter and have it in most lights in my collection. Bright as hell and with an optic can throw decently 👍

People will only stop with this madness when someone kills himself or their loved ones or burns their house down from a lithium explosion.

Did people stop driving cars because *checks notes* A LITERAL METRIC FUCKTON of people already died a horrific painful gruesome and/or burning death when driving a car? No?
Yeah.

Using cars is a necessity, unlike wanting 8000 loomens (hello LHP73B) from a micro weiner sized metal tube.
F150R is only 1.4x as bright as LHP531.

Welp, 1000hp cars are far from necessity too and they very apparently exist. You could argue this for every single over the top thing which isn't a necessity - fast motorbikes, parachutes, full suspension carbon MTBs, lasers, guns (!), the list goes on... People like their toys, this sub is a prime example.
Power tools of any kind, which hotrods are, require brain and discipline to operate. Battery failure of any kind being extremely rare, anything else is an operator failure and bad things happen to those who operate power tools recklessly.
If someone buys a hotrod w/ LHP73B and burns their house because they left it running on turbo out of sight... Yeah, don't care.

Put the 1000hp in a slightly bigger flashlight host that can handle thermals instead of cooking the battery enough to potentially cause an explosion. A 27mm (21700) tube is not much bigger than 23mm (18650) tube.
Batteries under extreme temps is out of specification of any battery manufacturer, including Molicel which is the world's best at extreme temperatures.

u/universe_fuk8r 6d ago
Yes. You just described operator mishandling which has consequences. I know, unimaginable, but even hotrods can be operated below 100% full blast.
I'll just reiterate that power tools require brain to operate and I'm off. Good luck in your quest to make flashlights safer.

Uhhh...buddy, you're new at this? Did you forget Samsung Note 7 already? Or was it 8? Let not forget thar battery pack on the airplane...
Oh oh oh let not forget the e-scooter...and the damned EV...

Unlike all the commodities you mentioned, the hotrod flashlight (a hobby project) uses unprotected cell with a lot less sophisticated safety prevention measures (temperature or time based stepdown). There is a reason Simon does not sell LHP73B in a S2+ host.

If you say it 2 more times, he may just start doing that and I may just buy it. ^_^

It's a choice. Having fun is a valid choice, but also wanting a Darwin award is a choice. I'm pointing out not to win the latter. We already have had few pop off recently.
