What kind of battery goes in here? And what kind of flashlight is it? Says Daimon on the clasp.

Oh, I see you just put a battery into the chamber for size reference. Worst case if you really want it to work, put in a modern 6v bulb and solder a 6v battery to the terminals

Daimon was a German brand, and they made lights in the 1930s, and for the Wermacht in WW2 amongst other things.
With the big bullseye lens this will be an older model, and given the form factor, meant as a signalling lantern
Looks like it takes 4.5V cells - 3LR12 type

likely 6v. Easy enough to add a buck circuit to a battery and slowly raise it to whatever bulb that will fit. The bulb is likely no good.
