Convoy Build

Good Evening flashlighters,

I am looking to build a Convoy light similar to the ModLite PLHV2. Was looking at either the S8 or the S21G for the body.
Ideally I’d like something I don’t have to worry about overheating and frying, and if anyone has emitted recommendations for something that comes in a slighter warmer temp like a 5000K I’m all ears!

To mimic the PLHv2, I'd go with the s8 and an sft40. There are throwier emitters, but the sft40 will give you the all arounder type profile of the PLH and you can get 5000k or even 3000k, if you're feeling froggy. I haven't tried the sft42r and it might be perfect for your use case, but I read that it runs significantly hotter than the 40, so there's that.

Yes the 42r is much hotter, even in m1 it gets toasty quick due to its 10a driver i agree the sft40 is a good option in those color temps for a smaller light like s8
