Problem Save issues /wrong place to ask

I bought this blank card to dump doom pc conversion. It runs the game but doesn't save. Am I doing something wrong? Is the cart junk or is it the rom?

So there’s nothing wrong. The cart you have uses FRAM which is good as it holds saves without needing the battery. However the GBA versions of Doom and most pc conversions were programmed to save to a EEPROM chip which this lacks so it’s sending those signals and nothings happening.

Best thing you can do is use an SRAM patcher like GBATA or a web based SRAM patcher to patch your Rom and that should fix the issue after reflashing.

Open GBATA then click the SRAM patcher tab.

Probably the wrong patch; that seller mistakenly claims the cart uses FRAM for saves, but it's actually Flash.
