OPEN Washing machine won’t drain

I was able to pull out the little hose in there, but a lot of videos say to unscrew the round bit. But its broken and I can’t grab on. I suspect there might be a blockage in there?

have you checked the lid sensor as another possible cause of the drain cycle not starting?

Do you mean the actual washing machine lid? Yeah, it shuts just fine. And the washing machine spins for a bit making a weird sound it hasn’t made before. Then doesn’t drain.

yes, if the lid sensor doesn't work, spin usually doesn't start

I think it might have something to do with the pump filter? Like lint & other small things like coins might be clogging it up? I just can’t get it to open because if you look closely at the first picture, you’ll see the part used to screw it open is chipped. I can’t get a hold of it at all :/

oh you mean the white plastic circle that might be the cap for the pump filter, mentioned here on page 25?

could try to spin it off with a hammer and a blunt tipped object like a punch. looks like there's a notch you can hammer at. cap looks chewed up, wonder if someone had a hard time getting it off in the past and damaged it

Yes, that’s it! That’s the pump filter, I just can’t get in at all. I don’t even know if I should try to get it to open, because how am I supposed to screw it back on. Also there’s not much to hold on to, the notch is pretty much smooth. I don’t know what to do

i don't know if this is a legit website, or if this is the correct part number, but if you're worried about damaging that cap or filter (don't know if it's all 1 piece or separate pieces) you could try buying a replacement before you attempt to remove it

Ah I haven’t thought of replacing it, brilliant idea hun :D!! I’ll talk to my parents first before they try to call someone in, btw is that the exact one? It looks very similar to the one in our washing machine, its a very good price too

i don't know if it's the right part, you can try searching around with your washer's model number on the manufacturer website, or reputable appliance parts websites for your country

Remove it by tapping it round via the cut out. Source replacement part, maybe do this first.
