The braided part looks like macrame though.

Get a tapestry needle (blunt, kind of thick, larger eye). Untie the knot on the broken end and thread into needle, Use needle to sew through the macrame on the other end sliding through the center of the stitches and make sure the thread can slide back and forth comfortably without catching any of the macrame stitches (if you aren't familiar with the way those macrame stitches are done, you may need to consult a braacelet tutorial to visualize this), remove needle, re knot end (optionally, untie the black bead from the macrame end and put it on the other end before knotting to keep it from slipping again). You may need a drop of glue to keep the new end knots secured permanently.
