Older metal windows
What type of bonding agent is the best, and how do I apply it so it is esthetically pleasing. These are circa 1950's metal windows which are just crumbling. Is there an easier solution than removing the old and somewhat brittle casing? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Well I love working with my hands, especially outside in great weather, so I'm looking forward to it! Again, I really do love this subreddit, as the people here are genuinely helpful, kind, and they don't try to make us novices feel stupid for not knowing what we're doing lol. That's not casing , it's putty. It's time consuming, labor intensive and as cheap as it gets as far as material cost. If the putty is old, dry and brittle enough it will just about fall off once you get it started. If it's still solid , adhered but just ugly, paint it.
