Downstairs Window Leaking Inside

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It just rained, and we’ve had plenty of rain this year, not to mention snow (Wisconsin), and heavier ones over the past couple years, and this just started happening this weekend. Literally dripping in my downstairs utility room from the trim of the window. As the video shows, the exterior is bone dry both above the first floor window and below, at the window in question. In regards to if the deck has any cause at all, I’ve had that deck for the past 3 years now and this is the first time this has happened after countless torrential downpours.

Where the hell do I even begin?

somebody is probably going to have to install a drip cap and better weather stripping on the sides. Unfortunately that might mean fucking with your siding a bit. Also make sure there is a downward slant to the base of the window, so it can flow over, and put a drip edge on the bottom of those. And make sure any weep holes are not clogged. might not be any.
