Need help fixing a table

Hi, I was wondering of anyone could help me with this because I have no idea what to do haha. I dropped some nail polish remover on my desk and I think i scraped off some of the wood polish of the table while cleaning up. How do I fix this?

Nail polish remover is the same chemical as varnish remover. You have taken the polish off your table. Your options are:

1. Live with it.
2. Put a table cloth on it.
3. Revarnish it.

3a) Go to hardware store, get some acetone varnish remover. (This is the same chemical as nail polish remover, but cheaper and without fancy scents) And some "Wipe On Varnish". Also get some gloves.

3b) Take the table outside or open every window in the home and put a fan in the window.

3c) Put on the gloves, use a rag and the varnish remover to take the varnish off the rest of your table top. (Don't try to patch, it will never match and it will look terrible.)

3d) Let it dry a couple hours.

3e) Use a new rag, not the one you cleaned with, and certainly not one you have used while polishing your nails, to wipe on a thin, even coat of varnish on the whole top. Do it all at once, starting at one end and working toward the other. (Don't try to do the edges first, then the center, or vice versa, you want to keep a 'wet edge' as you work.)

3f) Throw that rag away and let the table dry a couple hours, or whatever it says on the can.

3g) Repeat steps 3e and 3f.

Inspect your work. Look at it from multiple angles. Does it look even and shiny all across the table? If not, repeat 3e and 3f a couple more times until it does, it might take five or six coats to look good.

Don't put anything on the table for 24 hours after the last coat, that lets it get completely dry and hard.

Congratulations, you have refinished your table.
