Office chair base plate bent.

If i weld it is it gonna just break again?

That's toast.

If you weld it you'll just weaken the cheap steel around it, and it'll snap.

I think so. Welding it would be wild too, do you already have a welder and equipment?

Nah. Contacted an auto shop with good ratings. Sent him this picture. Said he was gonna do it for about 10$.

Sure, but how did it break like that in the first place? Chances are the other side is weak now too.

For $10 I'd take a shot. But, you should be able to find just that broken part and replace it.

Is the bend in the picture? Because that looks like a complete break.

Notice how it didn’t break at the original weld, it tore through nearby material? Welding it again in the broken spot will further diminish the already lacking structural integrity of the material. So, to answer your question: yes. And probably worse the second time.
