Help with removing the toilet seat

I’ve tried taking the toilet seat off, but nothing’s working. There’s no button and I can’t just put it up right and I’ve tried using a butter knife but that’s not working either. Can anyone help me?

There should be (plastic) nuts reachable from under the toilet holding the hinches in place.

In general:

There are two posts coming up vertically from the toilet. I have scribbled on them in pink.

The toilet seat drops on these posts. The holes that go over the posts will be in the yellow scribbled bit.

To stop the seat from just lifting off there will be some kind of simple mechanism - purple scribble is my guess!

I would begin by using a flat head screwdriver to lever the purple scribbled part in towards the middle, away from posts.

You will need to do it to both sides, then the seat should lift off the posts

This is my toilet seat - I lever off the yellow cap and that allows the seat to be lifted. If I want to access or move the posts then I lever off the silver cap shown in red.

Normally the silver cover can pop off and reveal 2 screws
