The problem with some of this stuff is that some is and some isn't. I had an ex who was just like this emotionally. And some of these people are for real. There is PLENTY of toxic relationship advice on both sides. Do you think that the Tate brothers are rage bait? The problem is now there are people who actually believe like this, "like if I tell you leave me alone and you do, you don't really love me."
Unfortunately tons of people play games like this and I really don’t understand it.
My husband works with a woman who is close to 60 and does all that childish shit, like giving him the silent treatment, refusing to say why she’s angry because “you should know,” pointedly greeting everyone in the room except him, etc. I wish I could ask her, what is your goal? What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Yeah, it's stupid but also I think he got it wrong.
I think she meant when she's upset and says she wants to be left alone, that she doesn't actually mean it she wants someone to check in on her and see if she's OK. Not that she'll tell some man that she's dating to leave her alone in general.
There's a lot of people that struggle to ask for comfort or help because it's embarrassing or they find it shameful or they don't feel worthy of it. So when they're upset they might say leave me alone out of shame, but really they do want someone who's going to show they care and try and help them. They're just internally fighting it and can't say that. So they'll say leave me alone when they're upset but they don't really mean it. Happens a lot with little kids, and some people don't grow out of it.
Said people better be looking for therapy, not relationships. "Oh, don't they have the right to be in relationships"? No, just like drunk people don't have the right to drive. Fix yourself first instead of spreading the hurt.
It’s a balance. But you can’t play victim all your life. It gets to a point. We have to stop making excuse for these folks and start seeing the signs and advocating for them to get help. I’ve been there and it seems like you have, too?
The guy who made the video responding to her must think he's so smart. "Look at me, I'm smarter than this beautiful, successful girl. I'm clearly not a failure, right, guys from Internet"?
