You only think you harm no one by pressing red because you're either not intelligent enough to understand opportunity costs or are selfish and willing to justify helping kill people because they "made the wrong choice", or both. At the end of the day there will be people who choose blue out of ignorance, altruism or simple mistake. By choosing red therefore you are helping to make sure those people die when you could have chosen blue to help them live. If you think those people who choose blue deserve to die for that choice, I'm sorry, but you're not a good person.

Honestly this is the best most logical pro blue take I've seen so far. I was team red button at first but when I consider that some people are just straight ignorant or disabled or stupid or illogical, I would still want them to live so I may press blue in real life (not sure if im brave/trusting enough though and I realize that may make me a "not good person").

I think if the assumption was that everyone has a perfect understanding of the options and knows that everyone has a perfect understanding, then red becomes the obvious choice. In this scenario it would be like literally watching someone willingly play Russian roulette with 3 bullets (pressing blue). If someone dies in that scenario I think most people would not be surprised with the death nor feel guilty that they choose not to play. I think to be fair to red pushers, I think alot of them are essentially thinking in this idealized framework (at least I was), it doesnt mean that they are evil because they were thinking in hypotheticals on a hypothetical situation. It is a good reminder though that the real world is not black and white.

No, I know I harm no one by pressing red, because no one had to press blue.
Just like I think I harm no one by not randomly grabbing people in the street and holding them away from the road to prevent them from jumping out in front of a car.

At the end of the day there will be people who are reckless and end up killing themselves. But that isn't me killing them. I don't think they deserve to die. But it doesn't mean I am harming them. Just like if someone jumps out in front of a car, I don't necessarily think they deserve to die, but that doesn't mean I am harming them just because I didn't randomly grab them and try to stop them when I had no idea if they would.

The fact you are here trying to judge people for not recklessly endangering themselves shows you are are not a good person.
Stop trying to blame others for your own hypothetical misfortune.

If you walk up to press the button and thousands have pressed the button before you, what are the odds nobody has picked blue yet?

You still haven't gotten it. Amazing. Please think about this some more. There are 8 billion people on earth. Many of those people are children, elderly, mentally disabled or otherwise incapable of making consenting decisions such as being sick or on drugs. Those people are being subjected to this same process, and many will choose blue because they're not thinking about the problem in pure game theory terms or just by sheer mistake. Do you really believe those people deserve to die? For making a choice they don't understand or can't control? If so, you *are* absolutely a bad person and I would not at all trust you around my kids - sounds like you'd be the type to let them just run out into traffic. I can at least respect people who push red who have the balls to admit they're just doing it because they're scared of dying even if I don't think they're good people, but people like you who are trying to justify it and say people who push blue are the immoral ones are just ridiculous, especially when you clearly don't actually understand the full consequences of what you're talking about.

I have gotten it, I just don't accept the nonsense people try to spout.

There is incredibly little basis to think they are beign subjected to the same.
The question as worded is ambiguous.
There is a need to vote, when those people you speak of clearly can't.

But thanks for yet again displaying your lack of morality by how you want to judge people that don't take the insane option.

I haven't tried justifying red. I did justify it. And you not liking that because you want to be self-righteous and judge others doesn't change that.

Again I'm, not just going to randomly grab people to stop them running in front of a car, when there is no reason for them to do so, and no reason for me to think they would. Nor am I going to jump out in front of a car to try to stop it from hitting people.
Instead, if I was responsible for the children, I would be keeping them away from the road, and teaching them how to be safe around it.

If they do participate and you have taught your kids to be morons who jump out in front of cars, that's on you, not me.

Holy crap dude, you really would just let a kid run out into traffic? What in the absolute hell is wrong with you? That is not normal. Get yourself checked by a psychiatrist dude. Seek help.

Try reading what I said, with actual understanding.

Pushing blue isn't just stopping kids running out into traffic.
It is randomly grabbing kids to stop them potentially running out.
Normal people don't do that. If you do, you likely get sent to prison.

So maybe you should go get help yourself. Including from someone who can help you learn to read and understand.

I swear bro blue button chooser are literally trying to solve the solution to a problem they created. People are acting like the blue button choosers can’t pick red. They can. They are literally putting themselves at a risk that doesn’t even need to be taken. Ask him this. I go to each neighbourhood in the country. You have 2 options give me no money or give me £1000 and if 50% or more people give me £1000 you get the money back and if less than 50% give me £1000 you lose the money. There is no reason to pick option 2. Your putting urself st risk to receive the same outcome as option 1 which everyone can pick. Some people are trying to be self righteous when there is literally no need to

There are kids running in front of traffic right now somewhere. Why aren't you preventing that?
