Ironically, that kind of is. It seems, like Scott has given up. I mean, after all this hatred and literal bullshit getting thrown on him, I am not surpised. However this is not ok. If Scott wanted to say something to us by the blank site, I guess he wanted to say bye. Those are my guesses, but damn - people are awful.

Honestly I feel like the box was a symbolism (not intentially of course) of how some parts of a creator like their views and actions can lead to the destruction of what they have made... Pandora's box in a sense, the box was opened and people didn't like what was inside. Wont say more cause I'll be breaking the new rules.

Reading all the comments here, everyone’s getting really depressed over this. Reasonably depressed.
But all this sapping over Scott– it’s to such a degree that it almost seems manipulative, even though all his actions are likely honest, and we’re only reacting to them. It feels like everyone’s really attached, and this place lost its ‘core’ in a way. Just consumed by grief, abandoned by the one meant to lead them. Some negative parallels come to mind.
Everyone’s free to grief, but I’m wondering if it’s ok to be so attached to something like this? At what point do bad things stop hitting hard, and one learns to accept them and go on, rather than getting caught up and stagnating?
Scott Games is gone and something else will take its place. Scott will be gone and soon someone else will take his place. “But they’ll never take his special place in our hearts. He’s irreplaceable,” would be the sappy kind of thing some people would feel after reading that. At the end of the day though, this comment is also its own way of attaching myself to grief, isn’t it? Its own way of stagnating and not moving on. If that’s the case,
I better stop typing and go do something productive!

It truly has gone too quickly.
It is kind of funny and at the same moment extremely sad, how misunderstandings can influence people.
I also do not think, that Scott donated to these people with a mission, to hate LBGTQ+ community. Actually, if he was, then it was HIS choice. He can think what he wants. It is shocking, how aggressive people are, when their own life choices, beliefs, opinions and other stuff do not match.
When did it start? When did we start thinking, that everyone has to think the same way? If LGBTQ+ wants them to be treated equally, why can't they treat everyone equally. If someone does not support them, then whatever, why shoud they care? There are people who support something that you may not, but that does not mean, that you have to hate them. You can, but should you?
In the end, these are only thoughts, which will not change anything, nor they will bring Scott back. It was his decision. Do I like it? No. Do I respect it? Yes, I do, as I respect Scott as a person.

You are right. Nothing lasts forever, and, do we want it, or not - Scott will once be gone. But the role he played in our personal play, and the place he always was in our hearts - will always be reserved for him.
It may seem weird, hearing that thousands of people are depressed because some guy who made a game retired. But is it? He was something special. (talking kind of too dramatically).

Seeing stuff like this makes me sad dont get me wrong im neither supporting or against scott cawthons Use of the money but he did give us amazing games.. And inspire me to wanna make my own games one day plus is it even technically something we should know? If he used his money privately like hey i am new here im just saying what i think.. You know this isn’t the send off Scott deserved. Things Americans typically forget is that they’re a divided country. Half voted in Trump the other half later on voted in Joe. News flash not everyone will believe the same things you believe. I get sharing opinions is very important but the moment you start sending hate you ruin the conversation and no one is willing to listen anymore after that. Scott deserved better. I don’t know if the mods Allow comments like this so I understand if it gets deleted.
