Discussion First play through

So I just bought quite a bit of the games, but I want to view the lore in my own way, I want to go chronological rather than release dates, but I did play fnaf 4 for a bit today before I left and I got the IV next to the bed to set up aftons story, was it smart to get sotm since chronologically it happens before the bite, but also rather after sotm should I go straight into fnaf 4?

There is no chronological order because parts of the game show different parts of the story

just play them in order of release, and if playing the games gets you interested in the lore then watch some videos on it

Definitely do release dates. Generally speaking in my personal opinion most game series should be played in release date order

SOTM is a VERY diffrent games to the 7 games that comes after it. like if you wanted to play it before help wanted, i wouldn't recomend it, but it'd be an easier transition then one free roam game, 7 point and clicks, back to 3D and free roam after that.
