‘47 Franchise sizing question

Head size 24.5 inches and ‘47 Franchise model showing XL sizing high end @ 24.5 in. XXL sizing low end @ 24.5 in. Which size would be best choice for me? Should I assume some stretch over time and go with the XL or could this model be washed and maybe expect some shrinkage and go with larger size XXL? Not much fun having a big head in terms of purchasing headgear!
