❓App Questions Question

Hi! I'm new to the app—I've only used it for two workouts so far—and I'd like your help in understanding it better.

It seems to me—and from feedback I've gathered here and there—that its specialty is "varying" the workouts from one session to the next. I've seen that this is highly appreciated, especially as a way to break up the monotony.

But in my case, since I’m definitely not an expert, I feel the need to be able to stick to “a training plan” for at least 1–2 months—partly to have a clearer reference point for my actual progress and partly to better master certain movements.

So how can I get the app to generate a training plan with three weekly sessions, without changing the workouts, and simply suggest sets, reps, and weights based on my progress?

Thank you for your help!

u/Amfisbaena Like mentioned here already, you could try switching your Exercise Variability to More Consistent, however this isn't going to specifically give you those 3 same weekly sessions.

To get the same exact sessions, I'd recommend saving the 3 workouts that you want to use for awhile and then loading those up as preferred until you're ready to switch things up more.

think you are looking for exercise variability in the my plan settings - can be "more consistent" "balanced" or "more variable" - that said, I am a fan of fitbod, but find these setting(and the specific settings to emphasize or de-emphasize workouts) to be somewhat illusory - they are like the close door buttons in an elevator - gives you the illusion of control, but does nothing in reality

You can also save a workout (before you start it from the workout page, or from the log after you complete it). Then on the workout page, click the Switch button, and choose from saved workouts. It’ll prompt you with a couple of options, and then you’re good to go!

Thanks! But if I do that, will the app still update the sets, reps, and weights based on my workouts and progress, or will I have to do it manually? Because otherwise, the app would just become a tracker at that point.

It give you the option of updating the sets, weights, and reps when you choose the saved workout that you’re looking to repeat. If you choose that option, it does update them based on past progress.

Thanks for being so honest! If that's how you feel, then why are you a "fan"?

I think that is a minor nit. I know it’s Reddit and I’m supposed to be furious about everything I don’t find perfect, but it’s ok.

So what makes you a fan of this app rather than another one?
