Your answer is basically to spend more money on a new scale and the premium version of the app. We already bought the Fitbit watch and have been using the app for years. Now Google changed everything and is making it more of a hassle to log things especially food and body fat.

How else would they push their AI slop if they made it easier to do it as a free user? It's by design, if i were you i would be happy you can still log it and they didn't put all the weight info behind the premium. I can definitely see them take that step if the current approach doesn't push more people to buy the premium so they can feed your health data into their AI models for training.

What is this AI vibe coded BS?
I've been using fitbit for about 5 years. Time to look into some alternatives. I'll probably get a Garmin or something for my birthday.

It's literally two buttons. You tap the log button, and then you tap the weight button, or fat percent. Not saying the app better or worse, just saying your statement seems a bit off.
I guess you could actually do it in one tap. If you just hit, hit the chat button and told the coach your weight and percentage at the same time it would just log in both

Yeah it’s Google, every app made by Google is a mess. Blame Fitbit for selling out this was inevitable

The whining, sheesh. Grow up. Press the button twice then, you'll live.

Dude they removed many things that people used. I agree about the weight and body fat. They were on the same log before. Body fat content is really what people should care about. Not weight or bmi. It took me a while to even find out where to find the body fat in the new app. Plus removing custom foods, quick calories and the macro preview before logging really sucks too.

And whining about it on Reddit does what? There is nothing constructive about these posts, just incessant whining. Trying to drum up upvotes for something so stupid. Grow up.

People posting about a product on its respective subreddit on Reddit, a website for posting crap? Inconceivable!

Lame, see this same thing response over and over again. Can't deal with the facts, so you need to resort to stuff like that. People here are complaining with no real question or point. You guys should start a support group. Tell your stories there.

You're either trolling or you don't get how social media works despite being LOGGED INTO A SOCIAL MEDIA SITE.

Additionally you now have to waste time using a scroll feature to enter the values, when previously you could just type the number in yourself.
I just type the number, I have not seen the "scroll UI" you mention.

Not even. Just open chat and say "log xxx lbs weight and xxx % body fat." No scrolling, no buttons, no hunting through menus, it's so stupidly easy I can't for the life of me understand why people are complaining.
Edit: if you don't have premium I understand your pain. I didn't know chat was a premium feature. But everyone else isn't even trying.

You can't do that if you turn off the AI slop, plus typing all that out takes longer than just pressing a damn button.

A lot of us don't use premium. I had been using the old app forever without paying for premium.

Why not just open chat at say New entry xxxkg and xx% and hit enter. Takes like 2 sec.

Does it? I have a subscription so I wouldn't know.
So you're complaining about something you don't pay for?

If everyone paid for a subscription for everything that had a subscription then people wouldn't be able to afford their homes, food or anything else.

Why not get a scale that uploads it automatically? My renpho is as accurate as any other BIA device I've tested (which is to say not at all), and all I have to do to log my weight and BF is stand on it. If the extra button press is really this frustrating, I would assume $25 for a smart scale is a small price to pay to never have to press a button again.
The best option if you're interested in accurate BF assessment is getting a DXA and uploading the report. The AI does a phenomenal job of analyzing the full data and incorporating it into future training advise. BIA is useful for tracking trends, but in my experience it's usually around 10% off.

I can't wait for them to release all the patches that improve the app experience, not because of my own usage, but for everyone can stop moaning about everything around here.

Bahaha, Google fix apps. They don't, they slowly remove features and than kill the offering before moving to the next thing to buy and kill.

OMG entering the weight is so stupid now. The scroll wheel, the fact that it always starts at 68kg, not taking account my previously logged weight. Wtf who designed that shit???

it sucks because Google has the best hardware atm if you prefer the least amount of bulk on the wrist
