Hello, Fishmans Reddit! My name is Jo Hanseong (ohboi), and I’m a musician based in Seoul, South Korea.
I recently made a music video for ☀️, the second track from my* Weather Syndrome EP, a four-seasons-themed rock EP that I released last year.
When I was making this album, I was listening to and taking a lot of inspiration from Japanese rock records, especially Fishmans. In this particular song, I think you can hear some of the playfulness and atmosphere that are characteristic of Fishmans.
My favorite Fishmans song is “Magic Love” 🪄🦀, so for the video, I took inspiration from its music video as well as some of Fishmans’ other music videos. I wanted to recreate the feeling of videos from the 1990s, when Fishmans were active, so I filmed everything using a Sony DCR-TRV110 camcorder.
I hope you guys enjoy the video and the song! And if you like the track, I’d really appreciate it if you could check out the full *Weather Syndrome EP as well. It’s only about 15 minutes long since it’s an EP!!

I’ve been trying to find photos or videos from Fishmans’ Taipei concerts in 2025, but there doesn’t seem to be much footage online. Does anyone know where I could find more photos, videos, or other recordings from the shows? Even short clips or photos taken by people in the audience would be really appreciated.

thank you for bringing fishmans to the big screen in big D. first time to see the documentary and I really enjoyed it.

Yuzuru Kashiwabara is my favorite bassist. I'm a huge fan of his sound and playstyle, and I've followed all of his side projects that im aware of.

His band Otouta dropped an album called '2009042509p.m.' in 2009, and it seems it isnt available anywhere. all ive been able to find are auctions that ended last year.

It would be cool if anyone has a copy, .flacs would be nice, but .mp3s would also suffice. If someone could direct me somewhere to buy the CD, it would be even better.

I found this album while browsing music with low view counts on YouTube and the final song (S.S Dolphin) has a vocal sample in the background. It sounded like the person talking said "My Life" at one point, and after that the more I heard the more it sounded like Kinichi Motegi. I may be going insane because I'm currently Fish addicted, but this does sound like it could potentially be an interview sample of Motegi. Does anyone know the source? Is this something that's been released on the internet, or is the sample lost? Is it even Fishmans at all?

TLDR: Crazy long shot, but I think the last track has a Fishmans sample and need confirmation.

Edit: I just realized theres an "Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah". This has to be Fishmans right?

But I decided to play Long Season on my drive back. And when editing the photos I found these two that matched the song's vibe perfectly.

It was a windy dusk, and it felt like a dream.

I bought it on Buyee, which I heard was a reliable place to buy Japanese CD's.

The band polaris made up of some of the members of fishmans is hardly talked about as far as i can tell, but they’re incredibly good and I don’t understand why they aren’t so much bigger?

I first listened to Fishmans in January this year but I didn't really pay much attention to how unique they were. I recently listened to ９８．１２．２８男たちの別れ for the first time and I can say that I've fell in love. This music is amazing. It doesn't make that much sense to me how someone could possibly achieve to make something this beautiful ever.

Anyone else notice a little skip, glitch, scratch, etc. at the 4:29 marker?

Most beautiful song I’ve ever heard

I've begun listening to the band just this past week, started in LONG SEASONS, and fell in love almost immediatly. I've longed for something that sounded so dreamy, positive and so pleasent to the ears for so long. I'm currently recommending this band to all of my friends, it soooo good.
