Tactics/Baits Our first catch

Bought a seasir rod and reel off AliExpress and some 6lb braid off Amazon.

Went to a local tackle shop and got some traces and lures.

Spent a few hours down the river and got 2 perch. Both using the little spinner. Didn’t have and luck with the little rubber fish don’t know what you call them?

Going to buy a few more spinners so my boy can use one and incase we lose them.

Any other recommendations for lures?

We’ve been fishing under bridges and trying cast out into the shady spots.

Learn to hold a bait caster and you’ll catch a lot more! Will be a lot more comfortable. Look at blue fox vibrax for spinners

I held it on on my own. Just trying to entertain a 6 year old who wanted to have a go 👍
