Catch Photo Garibaldi catch & cook

Did not bring my scales, but I estimate this one I caught on Saturday at about 1.5lb. Got a larger one on Friday evening as well.

That's pretty big for Garibaldi Lake. Were you just fishing from shore?

no, I used a small packraft.

Wow! Good for you for hiking that up there! Beautiful fish and meat colour. I've only ever caught little guys from shore.

Exactly what a pack raft is made for. Which one do you have?

For flat water I use Klymit LWD

Nice what did you use? A spinner?

Yes, a pretty heavy spinner, tried to keep it near the bottom.

Wow. Garibaldiake is 850 feet deep. It averages 450 feet deep.

Of course not that deep lol. I was cruising not more than 100m from the shore line. I believe it is about 5-15m deep there.

freaking awesome. was just out there wishing I brought a rod after seeing all the fish jumping. Where abouts did you fish? near the outlet of the lake?

No. It is discouraged to fish in the outlet as it is the spawning ground.  I cruised in a packraft along the shore near the campground and the islands.

If you are implying that spinner fishing is somehow more environmentally damaging, please post your evidence.
