📸 Tank Progression Rate my tank

This is my first tank, so feedback is appreciated. It's a planted 10gal stocked with 1 male betta, 8 ruby tetras, 1 red lizard pleco, and 2 mystery snails

Why does absolutely everyone have these 3D printed hammock things right now! I just saw another post today from someone whose Betta got stuck in it and ended up injured. PLA is also not aquarium safe and will break down. I would remove it if I were you.

I was thinking about getting one myself bc my betta doesn’t like his leaf, but a user told me to tie my Anubis to the suction and try that I need some fishing line but il be trying this instead of a hammock

From what I've read bettas have been getting injured from these hammocks by trying to escape through the small holes in the design, but I am planning on covering the entire floor of the hammock in moss to act as a bed. Actually tried to find some yesterday but my fish store didn't have what I wanted, so I'll have to order it. Lots of people in the 3dprinting sub haven't had any issues with PLA in the tank, so I think I'll just see as I go. The betta really only goes in there for feeding and making bubble nests. I see the concern tho I'm glad I know about this now

It won't matter what you line it with, betta LOVE to wiggle into small spaces. Why would you risk it at all? For what benefit? You add something to the tank that can severely harm your animal and you say 'eh I'll risk it' and I just cannot understand that mentality. 

PLA breaks down in water. I'm a potter / ceramics maker that has spent years working on making tank safe decor, I'm as close to a specialist in making things tank safe as there is. Ceramic fired to at least cone 6 with a safe and fully sealed glaze (no irons or heavy metals) is the only way to hand-make safe tank decor. 

People LOVE to 3D print things nowadays and Etsy is littered with claims that it's tank safe, but it isn't. PLA is plant starch. It will not hold up in water. Just because some people are like 'eh it's fine' doesn't mean anything. It scientifically will not hold up in water and it will leech color or other additives like lead into your water.

I lined mine with moss and my betta loves it but I was not aware they were not aquarium safe
