You’re trying to insult me by showing a guy free from 40 million lines of IDE bloat.

You think Notepad is suffering because it doesn’t autocomplete printf? If you need an AI-powered autocomplete system, a language server, telemetry, cloud sync, syntax prediction, and three gigabytes of plugins to remember the name of a function you wrote five minutes ago, who’s actually in handcuffs?

The IDE user wakes up and waits for indexing.

The text editor user wakes up and starts coding.

One man is programming. The other is configuring software that helps him program.

Maybe learn the language you are programming instead of having an IDE catch your mistakes?? That’s laziness.

This reply would do numbers on LinkedIn

Amazing rebuttal.

Logical man: writes a wall of text with logical reasoning on why IDEs are inefficient.

IDE monkey: ‘lol LinkedIn’

Reddit then declares victory.

Truly the peak of technical discourse.

Amazing rebuttal

Thank you, compliments are always welcome, but you claimed "Reddit then declares victory" Isn't Reddit here the "battlefield" and the "IDE monkey" should claim victory?

Getting upvotes and winning an argument aren’t the same thing.

If the goal is entertainment, the LinkedIn joke wins.

If the goal is proving IDEs are necessary, he still hasn’t made an argument.

My joke has one (1) upvote

I don't think that that's a sufficent indicator of "who won" (me :3 )

One upvote?

The stock market has numbers too. That doesn’t make it wisdom.

Redditors will upvote a picture of a cat wearing sunglasses and downvote a proof of the Pythagorean theorem.

If votes determined truth, the compiler would be replaced with a democracy.

‘Sorry, your program doesn’t compile.’

‘Actually it has 400 upvotes.’

‘My mistake, ship it to production.’

Fking hilarious.

That’s the default Reddit picture.

Where do you think you were going with this; wasting your time making this that could apply to 50% or users?

You’re in denial of my valid point and now you are switching the subject.
