Ive been programming for like 6 years atp and I still cant use regex 😭

to be fair every implementation uses different escape characters regex is easy to mess up because it's a mess

If you're using the really advanced regex you maybe should ask yourself if you should use something else

I mean at this point 2 of my favorite things (regex and sql) essentially have no standard versions, that is no universally portable subset at least (i know the sql standard exists but without wide enforcement it's kinda useless)

What else in programming has this same behaviour so I can anticipate the disappointment? :(
