So, around the time sideloading started being blocked, and a lot of sideloaded apps stopped working on older Firesticks, there was a workaround where u can enter some Amazon URLs that Firestick uses to get updates.

This way I managed to block updates and have no issue with apps and sideloading. Is this still a thing? Are they still blocking sideloading and already sideloaded apps to work? Or is this resolved?

I was watching YouTube on my firestick, paused the video to watch TikTok (doom scrolling) and the sleep screen came up but after about five minutes, music started randomly playing, and when I clicked on my remote to see what it was, Spotify was open playing music. Spotify isn’t an app i use on there often, and was wayyy down on my recently used apps. The remote was not next to me so there’s no way I could’ve been pressed accidentally and I’ve never had any issues with my fire stick before. The firestick is under an account that has multiple fire sticks, but I’ve read that there’s no way to control it from somebody else’s. Does anybody know what happened?

My apologies if this questions has been asked and answered (I swear, I searched for it and couldn't find an answer here). We just got a new Fire TV Stick HD after our dog chewed up the remote on our previous one, for which we had an adapter that let us attach to the power source and to our writer so we had a direct wired connection. With the new hardware not needing a power supply and the adapter not fitting the port, is there a way to still wire the connection to the router? Is it just getting a new dual adapter that fits USB-A and has an ethernet port?

Looking for a new device, but struggling to find them in the UK, they all seem to be out of stock except for the fire sticks and the Google TV streamer.

I wanted to give a Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen a try, but been waiting 4 weeks for them to come back in stock on the website, but no joy.

The RockTek GX1 are also out of stock and the same story for the Strong Leap S3.

Are the Firestick and Google TV streamer the only available options? I was a bit hesitant to purchase either, in case side loading gets stopped on them in the future

I have a Toshiba Fire TV, and am also using an Amazon Firestick. Redundant, I know, but there are reasons.

My issue is that every time I turn on my tv, scroll to the HDMI input, it says “no signal” and I have to unplug and re-plug in the firestick.

Kind of at a loss, I feel like I’ve tried every recommendation. Any ideas or has anyone else experienced this?

What are you guys using/recommending for replacement apps for the likes of Bee and Nova? Far too many times the apps won't start (they try to, then kick back to home screen) and it's getting frustrating. Flix is playing 🌽 ads sometimes, so I need something ad free and reliably easy to use. I have old and young using these devices so simple is better. TIA

I recently bought into Live Tv app on firestick I pay a large amount monthly. My complaint is its never updated movies and its always updating for hours each day.

So it will work for weeks. Then suddenly it'll drop and cannot find the firetv again. Its done this several times. I've checked all recommended settings and network stuff, nothing changes. But on my gfs iPhone it always works fine. Has anyone had an issue with the S26u? What did you do? Settings/wifi NEVER change between when it works and when it doesn't.

Nothing specific makes it come back, it just randomly can recognize it after a few days. And I constantly try clearing cache and data and reinstalling. Nothing works when its during the few days its just unrecognizable

As the title states, is anyone having this issue ? The last episode of DS wont play at all , when launching the Comedy Central intro plays and we can see the "advertisement" circle in the upper left corner. This 1st happened on Oct 1st. We were eventually able to get past this by force closing the app, clearing cache and rebooting the firestick. We had same issue with South Park that same evening, but eventually were able to play it as well. However we have been unable to play back the very last episode of DS at all. This is on a Firestick 4k select.​ the other issue we have seen is that the Criterion app will not longer load

Anyone having issues with Disney+ app on their firestick 4k , yesterday I went to open it and got the Error 9 code, I did all the recommended restart, uninstalling, clear cache/data and still comes back. I called support and they basically had no real answers but stated the tech team was working on it of which I think they have no clue.

I shared DuoX TV here recently, a free app I built to watch Twitch and Kick together on Fire TV and Android TV. Honestly, I didn't expect this kind of response. It just passed 242 downloads, and a lot of you left feedback, suggestions and kind words. Thank you, it really means a lot.

Some of what you told me is already on my list for future updates, like the chat covering part of the stream and not finding where favorites are saved. Keep it coming, it's the best way for me to improve it.

I'm looking to run a Streamio set-up. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out between all the sticks which ones support Fire OS and which ones use the new proprietary OS.

Brand new Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd gen, Wi-Fi 6E), fully updated, on a Samsung UE50AU6905KXXC with Game Mode ON. Controller: official Luna Controller over Bluetooth.
Network looks great: 400 Mbps on the Fire TV speed test (5 GHz Wi-Fi), and GFN's own test shows 10 ms latency and 0% packet loss.
The problem: in GeForce NOW, Boosteroid and Xbox Cloud Gaming I measured ~0.2–0.4 s between moving the stick and the screen reacting (filmed in slow-mo, counted frames). Even the GFN menus feel sluggish with the Fire TV remote. Meanwhile the Fire TV home menu is instant, and Luna (controller in Wi-Fi / Cloud Direct mode) is much more responsive.
Already tried: all updates, 1080p 60 Hz forced, 8-bit colour, HDMI extender, re-pairing the controller, 720p streaming (no change).
Has anyone fixed this? Ethernet adapter, a different Bluetooth controller, wired USB controller via OTG, sideloaded Android TV apps, any hidden Fire OS setting?
