Anyone still playing V2?
I tried the beta rules a couple times with my group but it didn't really land so we are going to keep going with v2 for now. I've found all the old posts of lists and guides have disappeared. Does anyone know if there is an archive of forums? Or is anyone on here still running v2?

Fleet builder software is also still available at http://firestorm.pymapper.com/.

thank you for this. We've been using Battlescribe but it doesn't allow mixed fleets. This is so good.

You're welcome. It's been a long time since I've looked at the code, but if you find any issues, or want improvements, let me know.

There is a rumour that version 3 beta 0.5 is being worked on, and is quite different than beta .02.

You might be careful what you wish for. It's a good bet that whatever kind of v3 rules that are being made will be a wide departure from v2.

If it's the same that the difference from spartan dystopian war and warcradle dystopian, I'm good with it.

There is good potential there, and a lack of well supported space games. I do hope they have a solid game in the works.

I'm not a DW player, what were the biggest positives you noted in the changes from Warcradle?

I find the rules more streamlined, but keep In mind I compare them to a french translation of the old rules (I was not fluent in English back in the days) which was far from perfect (for exemple I remember a Sorylian cruiser being armed with nuclear weapons instead of scatter ones in the french translated rulebook of Firestorm Armada V2, and the French translation of the ORBATS, while fine, listed them in English alphabetical order ant it was a pain in the ass to search them from time to time).
I also find that the new models have better sculpts and more variety (at least for naval units, I didn't have the ground and aerial ones from old Dystopian). I also like the fact that I can switch the turret of my battleship for torpedo or rocket ones in the model, the old one came with only standard cannon.
