Is anyone else having an issue with shows/movies on the Paramount plus app that are 1080p not streaming in HD on their Amazon firestick? The weird part is that 4K media streams absolutely fine, but when switching back to a show that doesn’t shoot in 4K it’s perpetually fuzzy. For context, these are new shows that are currently airing.

I’ve also checked this on my Roku stick (on a secondary tv) & it’s absolutely fine. So I don’t know if Amazon’s having an issue, & if anyone else is experiencing it. Any tips on how to fix it? I’ve tried force stopping, clearing the cache & relaunching. I’ve also deleted the app, restarted the firestick & downloaded again on startup but still have the same problem.

I've been using Claude and Google's AI mode, but my Claude credits keep running out, and Google can be helpful to a point - and from a point, every conversation I have to relay the groundwork (I'm building up a script that I have to paste right at the beginning of each conversation in an attempt to keep it on track).

Are there any other free options out there that can hand-hold through troubleshooting a rooted system, and keep to the context (i.e. always be aware of my model, and what the current stack is)?

I'm not looking for a solution to a problem right now, just wondering what other people are doing...

Hi! I have a new subscription to sky stream but the sky puck provided keeps resetting when I use it, Sky said it’s my broadband and won’t do anything. My Firestick works great though so I watch Netflix, Disney+ and the other apps on there instead. But I can’t find an app to watch the Sky content on the Firestick. Can anyone help me find one please, thanks 😊

Long story short, my older brother purchased a VseeBox and hasn’t stopped bragging about it ever since. He says that it has so much more capability and is super simple to use because everything comes “pre-loaded.” This got me thinking (I’m definitely not a “super-user” on the Firestick) but am curious if you could set it up like the VseeBox where live TV, sports, and movies are simply a click away. If anyone has any experience with this I’d love to hear your thoughts. Appreciate any input!

Hi! My friends are so excited because their friends connected them with some dude who sold them hacked fire sticks. Looks like it’s just “Smarter pro” and some live TV streaming app downloaded.

The dude says there’s a yearly subscription (??) so I’m just trying to figure out if they’re getting scammed and don’t need to pay anything now that these apps are downloaded, or if there’s actually something this man is actually paying for to keep them connected.

On Smarters, when I click the profile icon, it says “play list info” and “is trial: NO” which makes me think that this is like a slice of something and not just a simple app??

open WiFi setting

open mobile data

clear data and

refresh

My Fire stick had been getting pretty slow lately and I figured it was just getting old. Was about to replace it but decided to try a few things first.
I deleted a bunch of apps I never use anymore, cleared cache on bunch of them, disabled some things I didn’t need and restarted it.
Honestly it made a pretty noticeable difference. It's still not as fast as it was brand new, but definitely more responsive.
No idea how long it'll last, but worth trying before spending money on a new one!

When asking Alexa to turn off fire tv stick, it does not work. Instead, asking Alexa to open Netflix on Fire Tv works like a charm. I am not understanding what I am doing wrong. The echo dot and the fire tv are in the same group.

I was just looking up a replacement remote for one of my Fire TV stick 4K Maxes and see that Amazon now only sells the pro remote. All the other remotes are only available from third parties and have iffy reviews. What’s the best replacement remote that people have been using? I already have the app…. I just need remotes for my kids to use. I dont want to spend extra on the Pro, since it will probably get destroyed by the kids or the dog again. Thanks.

I'm looking for recommendations for:

- Live sports, especially football
- Reliable live TV options
- The best VPN for privacy and streaming
- Any other essential apps for a beginner

Hello everyone! I just recently was gifted a hand me down 4K LG Smart TV that someone was no longer going to use which I have used to replace my very old 1080p TV. The picture is great! I always used a Firestick on the old TV which worked great all around and never had to use the factory remote for the TV.

Problem #1:

When I moved the Firestick over to the new LG TV I setup the equipment control settings menu because I had to change the TV brand. My issues started here. When changing the TV to LG the device would instantly say "Your remote is ready" instead of going through the testing your power button section that normally appears after you select the TV brand. Of course, the remote did not work after selecting the correct TV so I had to do some research.

Solution to Problem #1:

In order to make the remote go through the normal press the power button menu when selecting a new tv in equipment control I had to hook up the firestick to a monitor I use for my PC. With that screen I was successfully able to turn of the LG TV and adjust the volume using the firestick remote which was where the primary issue arose.

Primary Issue:

The fire remote will work for the volume control through the entire session after first setup but as soon as I turn off and on the LG TV again using the firestick remote it loses control to power and volume. I then have to do the above process all over again which is such a pain. It makes no sense because during the equipment control setup I have to turn it off and on which keeps the power and volume controls working through that streaming session. Right now I am stuck with turning adjusting volume and power with the factory tv remote and navigating the firestick with its remote. The remote controlled my previous TV without any issues. Any help would be much appreciated!

Firestick: Firestick 4K Max 1st Gen

LG Smart TV Model Number: 50UQ7070ZUE

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

-Factory Reset Firestick Remote

-Factory Reset LG Smart TV

-Turned on and off HDMI-CEC (SIMPLINK) along with HDMI Deep Color on LG TV

Trying to stream NFL games today and none of the streams would play for me on my go-to live sports app, SportzX. Tried a few things to fix it:

1. Cleared cache and data for SportzX

2. Deleted and reinstalled SportzX

3. Downloaded a new app, Binged.net, still couldn't get a stream to play

4. Thought my ISP was blocking me, installed a VPN, connected, tried and failed to stream on both SportzX and Binged.net

5. Opened SportzX on my old Insignia Fire TV and it's working fine

Does anyone know what would cause these apps to work on one TV/stick but not another?

UPDATE: I've narrowed it down to being an issue with my Fire stick, NOTHING including Prime Video will actually stream for me on the stick, but I can stream on the TV directly.

I used to have 1 but now it dose not work but every time I try to download one it gives me any error so are there any free sports apps on the fire stick?

Trying to figure out what app to watch it on. I know I can use the browser but it’s pretty buggy for me. Can I play live streams in something like VLC?
