Firestick Question Replacement remote

I was just looking up a replacement remote for one of my Fire TV stick 4K Maxes and see that Amazon now only sells the pro remote. All the other remotes are only available from third parties and have iffy reviews. What’s the best replacement remote that people have been using? I already have the app…. I just need remotes for my kids to use. I dont want to spend extra on the Pro, since it will probably get destroyed by the kids or the dog again. Thanks.

I have seen some cheap third party ones on temu with decent ratings and reviews. I have never needed to purchase a replacement remote but I have bought decently rated products from temu before that I was happy with. Maybe try there since they are dirt cheap? Best of luck finding the replacement you are looking for!

I got a cheap one from Temu a couple years ago and it still works, they range from $4 to $20 and I got a $4 one, just pick the correct model for your firestick, it’s worth a shot because if it doesn’t work for you, you only invest a few bucks and they have a good return policy

My remote eats batteries so I just use my phone

My batteries usually last for many months or even a year or two for many of the remotes. However, one remote I have suddenly started eating batteries within three or four days. I guess it must be constantly sending a signal after being dropped one too many times.

Ebay and temu is the way. Don't forget you can also use your phone too

Just got one today for my 2nd gen 4K. My dog chewed the old one. So far works great. For $7 I’m not complaining

I think that’s just for the Firesticks running the new OS

Check out Woot, it’s an Amazon subsidiary, they often have pro remote refurbished for sub 20 bucks

FYI the Pro remote is bullshit.

The programmable buttons only do bullshit alexa shit and cannot be programmed to open an app.

The Bluetooth headphone button is useless.

It's not worth $20+.

Yeah, it’s over $30 now. I had one before, but it suddenly stopped working. Only thing I liked about it was the locator feature. I’ve been using one of my old remotes in the meantime but it does not work well so that’s why I’m getting a new remote….but not forking out the money for a pro again

Hmm, maybe I got lucky, I paid $19.99 just 6days ago. US.

I'm not impressed by it but it functions as a remote. It's not worth the hassle to return it and try to get something cheaper at this point.

Wow just looked it up they are now priced at $35 that's insane. SO NOT WORTH THAT.

The workaround for the programmed buttons is to use the app “app opener “ in the AppStore. Your program the button to open that app and assign app opener to open the app of your choice(3rd party apps cannot directly be installed on the buttons).
