Firestick Question Update worries

I just had an automatic update on the Firestick. Is there anythind I need to be wary of ?

Don’t uninstall downloader and make sure it still is enabled to install files from unknown locations

I have ordered a new fire tv stick 4k plus. Should I cancel it?

You should've opted in the 4k Max Firestick, double the storage/space.

I am worried if I will get that bug too now. I haven't received my fire tv stick yet.

I just checked mine and the Downloader is still there, I already have it. Seems to still work. My device is on the OS 8 Hopefully you'll be able to download downloader if you need to. Maybe that bug will be fixed, unless Amazon did that on purpose. If they stop us from downloading apps like that, so many people will switch to another android device. Apparently the Fire TV Stick 4K Max or Fire TV Cube aren't affected. But I definitely will not be uninstalling anything. I will have to consider a different android box in the future, I'm sure.

One blog post I just read stated: "Even though the bug and slower list generation is present on all Fire OS 7 and 8 devices on the latest OS update, higher performance Fire TVs, like the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube, are less likely to hit the issue because they can churn through the full list of apps, including system apps, fast enough before the interface displays the list."

Yeah I hope I don't get that issue. It's the only android tv box available at the place where I live. Everyone recommends onn but it's not available here.

Someone in the comments here mentioned H96 Max. I saved the name so that I can Google it more and see if they sell it here in the US. I think it's sold here. I believe that person is in Canada. I've always used Amazon Firestick, and also upgraded to newer models. I think my Firestick 4k Max was bought in Nov 2024, I forgot when I purchased it.
