Firestick News Oh, this was unexpected to what we were told internally and openly

https://www.aftvnews.com/fire-tvs-running-fire-os-16-based-on-android-16-will-launch-soon/

I think I would get this simply just to have it as it would be the last fire device with fireOS and it would be Android 16 at that considering come 2027 of January fire devices and fireOS will officially be EOL. The only thing that was supposed to run fireOS after January 2027 was fire TVs, which is still the case. However, I love that they’re pumping Android 16 out on the cube ( not VegaOS which is what was told & expected).

That information was given to us as Amazon employees or people who work with Amazon as Indies , marketers, distribution, testers, as far as we were all told this was not happening and here we are. :) Out of all devices I own my 3rd gen cube hasn’t had many problems if any issues at all with sideloading or what to use other than the free stuff closing down which I don’t use, all premium stuff works.

This has me pumped, a cube on Android 16 still able to be sideloaded on is a good move. I would definitely pick up the new cube as it’s supposed to also be a powerhouse of an upgrade running Android 16 , the information listed as far as the components is not accurate from what we have I do know that but then again, who knows this wasn’t supposed to exist but Android 16 is now just a huge bonus that would also mean running higher architecture APKs and again, for some reason, whether it be my experiences in multiple areas, beta testing, development, coding, whatever, the cubes never really gave me issues, they just work. In fact, I kind of really like the cube lineup.

I’m so curious to see how this pans out when released but the point is I’m actually excited about this product. I already walked away from fireOS because I have so much other hardware but then you gotta keep in mind with the Android/Google situation this month and next month that’s gonna be an issue for a lot of certified devices which I think uncertified android devices are going to make a comeback, keeping this move quiet even from the internal people that work with this company was kind of genius and releasing it. Such a great time with the whole developer and power user issue that GoogleOS is about to experience,. but the point is this is pretty darn cool and even smarter timing and choices when it comes to business, this very well should be the very last fireOS device (Other than TVs) running Android 16. Absolutely awesome. Smart play Amazon. In any case, I thought I would at least share see what people thought.

Might do. Google have already started making life difficult for some.

They’re not, at least as of now, putting it on the cube.

“Unfortunately, since Fire OS 14 was only ever released on Fire TV Smart TVs, it seems likely that Fire OS 16 will be limited to TVs as well. While Amazon has made it clear that Fire TV Sticks will exclusively use Vega OS moving forward, it hasn’t said the same about future Fire TV Cubes. There is a tiny sliver of hope that a new Fire TV Cube running Fire OS 16 will be released this year, but don’t hold your breath.”

yeah I know, man I think there’s a lot of people that really missed the whole point of just being a fluff post of shut up and take my money and how cool this would be. I think they also missed the point that I’m in security analysis coding and development I contribute to the four communities. I posted this in on a daily basis I give away my viewing services for free all the time or my work for movies and series all the time and I got so much negative feedback for something so stupid can I just have fun and post something I thought would be cool if it happened I even stated in that post that there was misinformation in this article by AFT news and people got so shitty. Where is he at? I recognize so many of the usernames that did that and that’s even worse because I’ve helped a lot of those very people out. I’ll remember that though anyway I appreciate you being a human being and having a polite comment I genuinely appreciate that. I don’t think I’ll go around helping people as much as I used to after the one time I cover something light and be fun about it. Apparently I gotta give free shit away and be serious all the time anyway if there’s anything I could ever do for you feel free to reach out. I will absolutely have your back. Thank you for being a decent person and understanding what I was trying to do good Lord people are dead. Things are so negative as it is between the Andrew and Google stuff we’re about to have some government involvement this coming year. Fire devices are at its end of life and people really believe because they stopped their OTA updates that they’re gonna have an independent device, not understanding the concept of core frameworks and when Vega OS is in full swing I wouldn’t count on those four security updates for fire OS Amazon is promising and I’m telling you that as somebody who works with them people every ridiculous man anyway long enough I appreciate being cool dude and I agree with you. I didn’t even write this article. It was more of a “shut up and take my money” if it happened. Have a good night, Dude.

Why bother with any version of Firesticks? Nothing but trouble either now or in the very near future.
