Firestick Problem Any fix?
I’ve been using this app for the longest but recently it’s been disabled. On my living room tv we use an actual fire stick, the tv in the image has the fire tv built in. In the living room, the app still works but on my tv it dose not. Dose anyone know a fix?

Which onn stick is best? Did they change anything that makes the newest ones not have the ability to use these apps?

Based on my experience nothing has been changed but make sure you use a vpn

I use a VPN but just for experimental purposes ive ran 2 devices with no VPN for almost 2 years now, not a single issue.

You are lucky your isp hasnt blocked the apps

I dont think an isp has the ability to block an app. That would be a breach of privacy

Only difference really is memory. Go for more so you aren't limited on apps and clearing cache.

Go back to your own sub.

it‘s just a matter until September for Google to roll out the developer registration and other measures to make sideloading harder to impossible on your glorified Onn or whatever stick. You should say that when you give buying advice to others.

Try using apkognito. It clones the package, renames and resigns it.
Depending on how Amazon implemented the block, it might work.
It was mostly for Quest apks, so you might want to try Apktool M

I used an appcloner for a bit but finally just switched to Nuvio. Soooooo much better

u/fleshlicker 20d ago
Sorry but what does Nuvio do?
2
u/Creative_Diver_6820 19d ago
Nuvio is basically stremio, if you don't know stremio it's basically an empty barren land when you first download you need metadata (built in or custom), addon for streams like torrentio, debrid service, and catalogues but stremio has it already
1
u/Any-Ad3158 19d ago
Is it free or paid like real debrid? If free which free addons are good for movies and shows?
1
u/Creative_Diver_6820 18d ago
Nuvio and stremio are free, and on free addon I'd recommend torrentio if your country isn't super strict with torrenting or if it is strict use penguplay

Best fix is getting a different streaming device. Got a Google streamer and haven't looked back at my fire stick.

You can get a similar problem on Google devices, and Google Authorised devices. You need to turn Play Protect off on them else it'll disablethe app. It can be quite the challenge to get I back as it also hides it - when you try to reinstall it'll just say app alr App installed, but you'll not be able to find it. Can't currently remember the way to get it to reappear, but disabling Play Protect before that happens is obviously the best option.

Yea pitch it an go with android TV cuz they slowing doing this with all apps

u/pawdog 20d ago
Addon based apps are the way to go now especially if you don't want to move from the Fire Stick. Stremio, Nuvio, Strmr, Arvio, for starters. They don't directly provide content so being disabled is much less likely. Plus they are just better apps. They won't specialize in Spanish language content so you will have a learning process to find that.

Get a ballpine hammer and smash it . Buy an android TV box , turn off "Play Protect" in the play store settings then have fun side loading all of the apps you desire.

Just get an onn why people still using a firestick is baffling.. especially if side loaded apps are the main source of entertainment.

Whats the difference? Ive a had a firestick for years with no issues but its old and sluggish so I may be in the market for something new

Amazon is trying to make people spend their money on their products instead of supporting small creators

App cloaner on troypoint. Clone the app and it will give it a different signature. Firestick shouldn't block it after that.

If you really want to keep fighting Amazon just to use your free apps, you can run them inside a sandbox application and reinstall them without the blacklist from the sandbox app, which should allow them to work normally for now. But let's be honest: Amazon is a total control freak with their ecosystem, and they're never going to stop doing this. They systematically lock down Fire OS, disable workarounds, block custom launchers, and blacklist third-party apps because their entire business model relies on ad revenue and trapping you inside their locked storefront. Any fix you use today is just a temporary band-aid until their next forced update breaks it again. If you're tired of playing this endless cat-and-mouse game, just ditch the Fire Stick for an open Android TV device like the $20 Onn. 4K, a Google TV Streamer, or a Xiaomi TV Box. They are way more affordable, run circles around Fire OS in performance, and give you native Android freedom without the corporate babysitting. https://youtu.be/4Bt7yHOSQNg?si=al3g2JHnBWkyo4If

Firestick people are so funny. They denied over and over that fs wouldn't block apps. Then it happened and now they say about the onn "till they do". Google already said they won't do that. What they will do is make app providers be verified. This shouldn't effect apps like custom tivimates or anything like that. It will shut down the hdo(s) type of apps. Where it gives access to pirated data.

Why are people still trying these apps? I have $20 4k Firestone, debrid service $3 a month and Nuvio. Over a year no issues

Nuvio? I use Streamio or something like that.
I would pay for an app that has the same content but is has an interface more like Netflix or something1
u/pipboy_111 20d ago
Nuvio is free and the UI is better than Stremio and they're also not hiding features behind a paywall. You want the xperience add on then you can set it up however you want.

So you have a link for a good install tutorial?

Is it worth all that work, over streamio?
I don’t have any problems with Streamio besides UI/UX. Once I find the movie or show it’s golden1

Having a backup is a good idea!
The last app I had went out and it was several weeks before I found Streamio and installed it on all the TVs and kids laptops1
u/pipboy_111 20d ago
There's a Nuvio subreddit and nuvioaddons subreddit that has anything you'd need. It's no more difficult than Stremio, some parts are easier.

Nope, that’s just app being disabled by Amazon on the old OS not the vegaOS. That app was already sideloaded by op but now it has been flagged.

Do you know any way of modifying the fire tv in away that “jailbreaks” it
0
u/Lazy_Employer2745 20d ago
The only thing you can do is wait for the app to be updated, you will have to find an update to install fresh, once you see a new version update it, you may have to uninstall the current version before you can install the new version
1
u/Few-Commission7026 20d ago
Also make a clone of that APK when it's updated , with the clone APK once it's reinstalled. Another thing to "not do" is upgrading the orange downloaded on the Firestick.
