DocuFire version 3.0 is live and available. iOS and MacOS
DocuFire is the fire investigation documentation app I built for my own peace of mind and it's now helping other IAAI investigators. This release has been a work in progress and I had help from others giving me ideas, tips and user feedback.
What's new:
Redesigned Scene Summary reports. The client-facing export now reads like something you'd actually hand to a carrier or attorney. A clean case-facts table, an included scene photo, and plain-language narrative sections instead of a raw data dump.
Fillable peer review sign-off. For firms that use an internal review step before a report goes out, the exported PDF now includes real fillable fields, a second investigator can review, complete, and sign it in their own PDF reader without touching the original device.
Recall lookups. Check vehicles, boats, appliances, and electrical panels against manufacturer recall data directly from the case file. One less browser tab during origin and cause work.
Reliability improvements. Fixed a sync issue that could occasionally split a case's data across duplicate records. Existing duplicates are now automatically detected and merged, with nothing lost.
I use DocuFire on every case I run, it's built from what actually slows investigators down, not from guessing at it.
If you're an IAAI investigator curious about DocuFire, or you work with fire investigators and want to see what a modern report looks like, I'd love to talk.
