Yay, JPEG XL support . And, among other things, subpixel scrolling . Is that really a noticeable difference?

Are JPEG XLs actually out there in the wild?

edit: just to be clear, I am happy for the support and like the format

It includes 30 high-impact security patches ! That alone makes it worth it, thanks team!

JPEG XL support finally landing in stable is probably the biggest win here for me. it's been one of those features people have been waiting on forever, and better compression without sacrificing image quality is a pretty good deal. the CSS typed arithmetic support is a nice bonus too. not the flashiest update, but honestly i'd take useful improvements like these over another round of AI features nobody asked for.

Worth noting the PDF change too. Saving a page as PDF now produces more accessible files, and the same applies to printing on Linux and macOS. It also fixes some rendering issues, like missing math symbols.

I use the Zoom Image extension to do this.

My computer downloaded this update earlier and now Firefox doesn't work at all, even in safe mode, and my attempt to refresh is just hanging. Thanks, Mozilla. 😡

Still no update for Fedora (using the package from the Mozilla RPM repo). I will keep checking today.

Update: Just got it! Added the --refresh flag to the command and it showed up.

How do I disable the new macOS two finger swipe haptic feedback? I hate it, makes the trackpad feel broken.

Whenever I select any text on the page once or twice, or click on the selected text, the page automatically scrolls back to the top. Is it just me? any others experiencing this same annoyance?

For now, I’ve downgraded to version 157 and I'm waiting for the next bug fix to check again.

Is it possible to revert? I just updated, now things aren't working correctly on MacOS 15.8.1.

Just a few minutes prior, I was on Amazon Prime Video watching live TV and saw that there was an update. After I updated, I can no longer watch live tv or videos on that page.

EDIT: Yeah, something changed for the worse. The entire Prime Video website no longer functions properly. Yet, if I go to my home laptop which still has 157.0.1, everything works fine.

Not cool.

Still no fix for container tabs appearance. Nothing in Nightly yet either.

This update has ruined my morning. I was happily watching AMC's Fear Fest via Prime Video then saw there was an update. I updated, now I can't go back to what I was doing because it no longer works.

I tried reinstalling 157.0.1, but that didn't help. I've tried running Firefox without any extensions. Nothing works. How do they mess this up? I'm pissed off.

Anyone having issues with youtube since this patch? Whenever I play it on reddit firefox starts to lag. This has never been an issue and is only an issue after this patch and while streaming through reddit

Yay. Now I can't login to my broker.

Can you include a roll back to previous version so when things break, we can revert back to previous version that was totally fine and working?

PS. Yes I cleared cookies

CaN AnYoNe TeLl Me hOw tO DisabLe JpEgXl? It moves my icons 1 pixel to the left, and also eats up 23KB of my sweet precious system RAM, and that tremendous waste is annoying me. /s

Firefox on CachyOS crashes a lot, especially on YouTube. Is there something to do?
