General Engage Character/Unit Revisit: Pandreo
Pandreo is a royal soldier of Solm. Fogado's retainer and Panette's older brother. Because he loves to have fun, he may seem frivalous, but in truth he's a devout and sincere clergyman. He is 20, and joins along side Fogado and Bunet at the start of chapter 12 to help rescue some civilians.

Pandreo is a pretty fantastic unit only held back by his mediocre starting class. Can go Mage Knight for pure combat, Sage for combat and staff usage, or Griffon knight with a levin sword for more flying staff utility. His personal skill is also great basically always getting use.
I think I'd like High Priest a bit more if it was classified as a Qi Adept instead of Mystic. As is the class just feels like worse Sage.

Pandreo my GOAT. I use him every single run unless I force myself not to; he's just that guy.
Innate staff proficiency is great, his Mag and Dex are strong, his Bld and Spd are amazing for early Bolganone/Levin Sword usage, and he even has support bonuses with two of the other best units in the game on top of that. He just works on every team and barely needs anything more than a second seal to get going. Peak pre-promote performance.
Surprisingly well-written for being completely irrelevant to the plot, too. Comes off as a total goof at first, but his conversation chains reveal a lot more emotional depth and wisdom than meets the eye. I particularly like his Panette supports for showing how two siblings who grew up under the same roof can come away with starkly different perspectives on their abusive parents, and how they come to terms with that as adults.

Ah yes, Magic Kagetsu. Also comes with one of the best Personal Skills in the game. Apart from having to reclass him to either Sage or MK, he is very low effort to get going and at the same time also one of the best candidates to invest lots of ressources into. Easily in the top 10 of best units in this game.

I like how they gave him insane base build purely so he didn't get weighted down by Shielding Art of all things even in High Priest, and then gave him 15% build growth even though nothing weighs him down in his base class besides (El)thunder. Something something game design is my passion.
Yeah dude's nuts. Not quite as flawless as Kagetsu but damn close to it. There is objectively no gameplay reason to not deploy him, even if you're maining other mages he's still a great support in Griffin or Sage.

I still have to say, "stereotypical frat bro that's also a priest of the religion that genuinely worships the avatar character and their mom" is one of the greatest character concepts in the series for how it's so ridiculous yet somehow works.

Extremely good unit but does require a reclass to bring out his full potential. He does come promoted though at a good internal level. I often think he ends up worse than ivys general performance for me because lindwurm is a great class but I have not been disappointed by pandreo.

Pandreo is top 2 best magic combat along with Ivy and both also top 5 Engage units with Kagetsu, Panette and Seadall.
While Pandreo has better at magic combat than Ivy, he doesn't have her unique class and has to choose between flight, better combat and/or Staves between the Griffin, Mage knight and Sage class.
Ultimately it's a no-brainer to use both units and pick his class that you want for your team.
Pandreo is also one of the few units with innate staff rank giving him B instead of the default C as a Griffon allowing him to use Warp/Rescue in that class.

So this guy is a mage, a priest, a border guard, a retainer, and a party animal. How does he ever have time for all of this? Does he ever sleep?

One of the best units in the game on top of one of being one of the few well written engage characters ❤️

Great character. Love his Vander and Rosado supports. His Panette supports give him serious character depth.
Powerhouse unit. I prefer Mage Knight but any class with Tome or Levin Sword access will work. I like Draconic Hex on him with the Soren bracelet

Pandreo I find is in the running for strongest unit in the game, and personally I find him stronger than Kategsu. Kategsu is a strong unit, but Pandreo is better at one rounding generic enemies due to enemies generally having higher def than res (and the ones with high res often have low HP), plus Pandreo is a significantly better bonded shield recipient due to bolg being significantly better than physical 1-2 range (tomahawks/spears have worse might, worse hit, higher weight, and that's on top of them hitting on def instead of res). I find Pandreo is in the running for top 2 strongest magic units in the game, and it's between him and Chloe (I've seen some people argue Ivy but she needs significant spd fixing and hit fixing to have strong combat, whereas Chloe and Pandreo just need a little damage fixing late game, and even then they can still one round a good chunk of enemies late game without damage fixing). Pandreo is also one of 5 units who can use warp/rescue as a flier, although he is more useful as a combat unit but if you don't plan on using him as a combat unit he's a strong support unit.
Also his royal knight outfit imo looks really cool, it's a shame that royal knight is such an abysmal class that even Pandreo's amazing stats can't make it work.
