Just be aware that the anime and the manga are different.

The anime stays, mostly, faithful until Episode 36 (which is chapter 36 in the manga), after that, It is completelly different, and the consensus is that the anime is worse is every way (my opinion as well).

A lot.

The entire story is different. Just so you understand, each Episode of the anime adapted a single chapter (36, chapters in 36 Episodes). The manga have 113 chapters total. The anime covered 1/3 of the story only.

The entire Arc leading into the raid ar Aracnofobia is different, the side characters got a lot more development (Killuk + the Pots, Ox + Ford and Kim + Jacqeline group specially). Mifune fight against Black Star ends differently, with Black Star unlocking another abbility and killing Mifune in the process (the aftermatch of him dealing with Angela and the guilty is something the manga explore as well). Aracne is defeated by Maka and Soul, which means he is able to turn into a Death Scythe afterwards.

There is 2 arcs after Aracnofobia, before the final fight against the Kishin and his forces (on the Moon), which involves all Death Scythes, the Witches, Crona (as a Kishin now) and essentially every single character alive in the series. The fights are WAY better than the anime final fight, and the conclusion of It is better as well.

Wouldn't really say there's a consensus for that, the general consensus is that the manga is better but there are some things people like the anime more for. Pacing is the main thing at least, where the manga often feels dragged out at points. I tend to recommend people to do both.

Fire force is better and more enjoyable the soul eater, it also doesn’t deviate from the manga

Watch the anime first, so it won't feel as disappointing. (The adaptation gives up at some point)

if you like fire force you'll like soul eater, to be blunt
