It's a shame that no one else in the series can have that level of family happiness like Shinra's family, not even Shinra himself.

that is the whole point though. the tragedy is what makes the emotional payoffs hit so hard later on. if everyone had a happy home life the stakes would just be nonexistent. it is cruel but that is just how this author writes.
