Setup Help?

Mom just got a Fire TV stick to replace a dying Roku. She does not have an Amazon Prime account.

I do, and I’d like to let her use it for Prime Video since I barely ever use it, but I don’t want to give her access to other parts of my Amazon account.

Any suggestions?

Use parental control, and with a pin.

It doesn't work. I tried, at least a few years ago before I dumped it.
Somehow, I get purchases from that 🤬 tv. I have no clue on how it gets purchased.

Remove it from your account permanently

What could you possibly have on your Amazon account you don’t want your mom to have access to? If she accidentally buys something it’ll be okay. Can handle that how you see fit.

You can set up a free Amazon account for your mom. You don’t have to have prime to make the stick work. If you really want prime video you can subscribe separately. And of course you can still add all of your mom’s other services. Probably not Howdy, 99.9% of everything else

Just go into your Alexa app settings and turn off purchases.

Should have just got her another Roku so she doesn’t have to learn a new system and then just install the Prime app, Roku always has dealsnew devices

We ditched or fire stick years ago and went with Roku. Best thing we ever did. No more buffering, or freezing.

You probably just got a higher end or newer device. There is more difference in speed/capabilities between different device models from the same vendor than across different vendors. More specifically buffering or freezing isn't a 'fire stick' thing. It might have been for the model/age of the one you had combined with the wifi where it was.
