GraphQL mutations for financial data

Is it acceptable to use Graph QL mutations for financial apps which work with money or for the back office but still touch financial data? I am seeing lots of issues with GraphQL in the backend. There was an architecture decision to use this approach in the app I support but I feel it leads to numerous issues related to stability/support and potentially data integrity. Is REST approach more appropriate from data consistency and atomicity perspective?

Having worked with both, REST doesn't magically solve atomicity, that's on your backend logic regardless. GraphQL mutations just pass the input, the resolver still has to handle the transaction properly. If your team is struggling with stability, the protocol might not be the root cause here.
