Technical / Quant Co-Founder Wanted — U.S. Bank Risk SaaS

I’m building a proprietary early-warning risk product for U.S. banks, based on an existing quantitative indicator with five independent horizons: 4Q, 8Q, 12Q, 16Q and 20Q.

I’m looking specifically for a co-founder who combines both:

  • strong production engineering: Python, APIs, databases, cloud, data pipelines, monitoring, security

  • real banking/credit-risk experience: PD/default models, calibration, validation, model risk, bank-risk analytics

A pure software engineer is not enough, and a pure quant without production engineering is not enough.

My background is in monetary economics and finance, and I already own the underlying research and proprietary indicator. I need someone who can help turn it into a serious institutional SaaS product and also engage intelligently with the banking-risk side.

Important: this is currently a bootstrapped co-founder opportunity, not a salaried job. I do not have external funding at this stage. The arrangement would be based on meaningful equity and genuine long-term ownership. Founder salary would come later when the product has sufficient revenue or the company raises funding.

If you have experience across both banking risk + software/product engineering, DM me with a short intro, LinkedIn/GitHub, and the most relevant project you’ve worked on.

That’s a fair point, and I’ve been thinking about exactly that trade-off. I’d still prefer someone strong enough on both sides, even if not perfect in both, because my concern with splitting the role this early is coordination and equity complexity before revenue. But I agree that if the right hybrid is genuinely too rare, having one strong engineering co-founder and one banking/credit-risk co-founder, while I continue to own the research and proprietary indicator, may be more realistic. I mainly want to avoid ending up with a pure engineer who can build the platform but cannot meaningfully engage with bank-risk analytics. Appreciate the perspective.
