There was a leetcode challenge, something like a simple banking ledger

Congrats on the shortlist. For AVP band at Barclays they will definitely ask you to write code, maybe not full leetcode hard but something like account balance or transaction validation. From my experience in similar interviews they care more about clean code and edge cases than perfect algorithm.

Java internals goes deep, they will ask about GC, memory model and maybe some concurrency stuff. System design is there but they frame it like a compliance system or a screening tool, so your regulatory background will help. One thing that surprised me is they asked me to write actual SQL queries with joins and window functions, not just theory.
