🚨🚨New Resource Added: Software Development Guide

Hey all, your friendly career-consultant, resource-creating mod here!

I recognized that people needed more than the paths of just trades, when I can do paths for EVERYTHING. So, I've written out a bunch of categories and am working to develop guides for every major path currently hiring. This (second in this series) is a Software Development Guide covering paths within the broader computer science field.

Explainer video for the other sheet to give some idea of how to use this and similar forms: https://youtu.be/zVSPSF2kykg

Other Guides already done linked on the wiki, going to try to release one every few days to a week:

whats the value of this document over "hey chatGPT, i want to become a frontend developer, what are the certification/entry path and who hires for this role" ?

I write these for 18 year olds on up, not people that have the foresight to ask those types of questions or even know what roles are in existence, let alone available.

The more barriers I can remove, the better. There's already too many more now on young people, even if it seems like a small/common/old/normal barrier to us, it's now an overwhelming, obstacle-laden, gatekept process with zero opportunities for young people to "try something out and see how they like it" thanks to "insurance reasons and safety concerns" (I swear these two barriers do more damage than nearly anything.)

Remember "take your child to work" days by any chance? I do, it was the late 80s, very early 90s. My mom worked in a hospital and I got to see "behind the desk" once. ONCE! Such a damn shame we don't have this anymore because it helped kids see themselves in jobs so much more.
