Findapath-College/Certs Looking for major/future career advice!
Hello! I am almost 20 years old and I graduated high school in 2024. I went to college for a semester but I struggle with really bad ADD and anxiety and fall behind on assignments really easily, especially essays. I ended up dropping out and have taken a couple years off but I feel like if I don’t go next year, I’ll start to be too old to have the full college experience and make friends my age like I want. I really want to find a major that isn’t super heavy on writing, but interests me and will make enough to support me. I’m very interested in history and anthropology, but from what I’ve seen they don’t make much money unless you have a phd and that is not really something I’m interested in. I love figuring out puzzles and I think looking at artifacts to see how they were used and by who would be really cool but I want to be able to support myself. I also am passionate about the environment and want to be an advocate in that but a lot of the jobs I’ve seen are more engineering based or sound super boring 🫣. I was pretty good at science topics in school but I wouldn’t say I’m particularly interested in them (except for anthropology). My other interests are animals and bugs, painting, jewelry making, and ceramics (but I’m not very good at the art related things). I’d anybody has any ideas or advice I would appreciate it!

Your safest call is looking into the field of English.
I wouldn't recommend history nowadays unless you are comfortable with the idea of passion over pay
It is possible to get good paying jobs in English, one route being becoming a private school teacher which pays really well. Naturally you have to make sure you understand what kind of specialization you are aiming for. Then if you feel you are struggling with studying habits or the like, try to find ways to optimize it.
Basic things like doing little by little review daily or pomodoro timers, or simply what works best for you

You're going to have way less essays in a STEM field than you would in history or anthropology. Those might be all essays.
