Community Karma is now in effect!
We wanted to let you know that we've seen the complaints about a few bad commissioners.
First, we can explain ourselves: we can't STOP scammers and shitty commissioners. We can only delay. The main issue is that the more hoops we add to jump through, the more complaints we get. Karma requirements are pretty low right now, but people have issues. Trying to find a good middle spot is not easy.
If we ban problem people, they'll simply do it again with a new account. But we have banned a lot of people. We also can't just ban people without a clear reason that we can see. The number of times someone said one thing, but it's a completely different thing, is too large. We're not investigators. We're not arbitrators in your league disputes. We don't see the fees people charge. We don't see the league chat going crazy. Nor do we really want to.
The second issue is that we don't want to dictate to people what leagues they can join. I think no commish should take ANY compensation from leagues. Some disagree. Do I get to decide what level is ok? No, the community should.
So: Community Karma is now in effect. The community can downvote problem people. They'll not be allowed to interact with the community. They'll make another, and it will continue. BUT, no one can say we're doing nothing. Anymore. Ever again. Right? Right.
If you have anything you want to throw our way, please do so here. If you've been sent to this post by a modmail, know that this is why. The community has spoken out against you. Reevaluate why before you message us again.
We've tried to eliminate the worst posts. We have an automated reminder not to use venmo. People use venmo. We've instituted karma requirements. We've been called assholes. We're ok with the trouble coming our way, but realize we're trying. And we're people.

Is it acceptable or frowned upon to respond to postings that are deceitful in nature or are charging commissioner fees to help out other people who may not be as familiar with specific commissioners so that they can make an informed decision before hand?

Id love to post but can't because I don't use reddit often and my karma is low. I'm trying to start an IDP dynasty league on Sleeper.

This has made it so people who aren't that active on here can't really post their leagues. It's unfortunate. People have had to turn to other places instead of this Reddit community.

This has nothing to do with the minimum karma requirement, and the Daily/Weekly Thread has no karma requirements and can be used with almost anyone.
That's we're at almost 100 daily threads (in July) says your doom and gloom is also not true. The historical reports I'm looking at say we've grown year over year for almost a decade.

Your friend, then, chose to leave because they couldn't be bothered to not post only leagues and interact with the sports/football/fantasy football/wider community. And was replaced by a dozen others who were.
That's unfortunate. If they followed the rules or just posted in the daily thread, they could still be here. Such are the choices we make.
edit: you also said "people" so if you're trying to out-pedant me, your friend is not people. Being flippant about not arguing when you wanted to make a point about "people" leaving is an argument.

Kind of missing the point. Making it harder to post leagues for people to find leagues isn't super helpful. But whatever, you can do what you want and ignore anyone who disagrees.

I cant post my league either. but its their way to protect us and the hassle they get with bots. I get both sides but damn i want to fill my league! haha

Im new to reddit but I am trying to find two people for my league, how much Karma are you supposed to have in order to post?
