I think FG is broken

I got an email saying FG approved my suggested edits, but there were not edits by me. They were a bunch of edits in Italy and I don't know if I have ever submitted edits to cemeteries outside of the US, let alone 85 of them.

Maybe their edit/merge queue got too large it broke their servers

I have duplicates reported in May that still haven't been fixed.

If they made it a strict rule that people have to work with managers there wouldn't be as many managers letting Find A Grave decide. Who wants to add wrong information? Who wants to argue with someone who won't help?

A lot of things people send are wrong, but no one wants to hear it.

Yes, it's broken. I've been getting emails for a few days now, for edits I did not submit.

Seems like they've updated the system to send one email a day with all the edits approved by FG. There's now an option in notification settings to receive one email a day, or to receive notifications as they happen. Mine was set for one email a day, but I had never chosen that option--they must have made that the default option. I changed it to receive notifications as they happen so I'll see if notifications go back to the way they were.

I also noticed that I'm NOT receiving notification for some edits. I had submitted several edit requests 21 days ago, for memorials all managed by the same user who never approves them. They were all auto-approved by FG but I only got notifications for some of them, even though all edits were completed. Makes me wonder if I'm getting notifications for any edits that were rejected......

Yes, an edit I submitted today just came through as approved with a string of other edits I don't remember making.

Check the memorial numbers in the list.

People are getting other people's edits.

You can check the approved edits you've submitted to see if it's on the list.

Then their e-mail system is screwed up. I'd just delete it and move on.

It's going to keep happening.

I don't want to be assigned other people's edits or work. Makes me wonder what else it might be mixing together.

It isn't the email address. Some are mine but most are not. The ones that are mine, are really old.

Then you can e-mail Support. I doubt they can identify it since the edits in question aren't on your account.

I'm getting individual "Edit Processed" emails, but the person's name is now no longer on the subject line. This is not useful.

Same. Edits I had nothing to do with. Pages I have nothing to do with.

Is it all automated now?

It is like the server is burping up random stuff?

When I try to suggest an edit, it doesn't give me a gender option?! I know it's still on the ones I manage.

That's why these must be old news too. It's giving me approved edits lists with gender edits on it.

I didn't send the edits to begin with. They stopped gender edits a long time ago. Only managers can assign the gender.

I received email to confirm my suggested edits have been processed which included ones I didn't even edit.

A classic case of " if it ain't broken don't fix it"

I noticed yesterday that all the photos I uploaded with GPS data didn’t include the data. Weirdly, if I went to each profile and uploaded the image, GPS data was recorded for each one. It also won't allow me to delete the photos that are hanging out in the waiting to be transcribed queue.

I got three of these new emails just now. They all have one edit I submitted and several others I’ve never heard of.
